    Optimization in Windows Media Center

Hi, I am new here. I was wondering what that Optimization in Windows Media Center is exactly. Its under Tasks>Settings>General>Optimization and it makes me schedule the "optimization" at a time that I cannot use Windows Media Center but when I open it at that scheduled time, it still opens and works. What are the pros and cons of this "optimization"??? And so far, I have found little or no improvement while I have this enabled.

I also wondering how I can remove a few bugs while I watch live TV cause sometimes there are these minor lags. My live TV now seems a bit slower to load since I had an Internet connection. If I defrag the PC, it would go faster again a little bit. Anyone of you can explain this???

To tell you the truth I don't even think about it, But what I read what it does in that link I think it's basically a restart of the service. I can see where that might help.
    Just me rambling here.
