Cant Install Windows media player

    Cant Install Windows media player


    Hi All,

    I have windows 7 ultimate n and have tried to download and install windows media player with no luck at all.
    I go to the Microsoft site and select op system and windows 7 and i download a file and we i try to run it it says not for my operating sytem.
    Can someone please help me?

    Windows Media Player 12 is included in Windows. You don't need to install it. Also, are you on Ultimate 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Hi Shane and welcome to Seven Forums.. The N versions of Windows does not contain WMP, and as far as I know, it can not be installed due to a EC law suit against MS.. You will need to install a third party media player, there are many alternatives available to choose from...Winamp is a good one. You can read more about windows N -=> here

    How come when i go to the microsoft site it says "The Media Feature Pack installs Windows Media Player 12 and related technologies on computers running the N or KN edition of Windows 7. Available for 32 and 64-bit computers.

    Im confused.

    Windows Media Player 12 is included in Windows. You don't need to install it. Also, are you on Ultimate 32-bit or 64-bit?

    I was almost there but selected NO as i was unsure if it was correct.
    Anyway its working great.
