I Just installed the 2.0.11.0 beta on my fresh install of Windows 7 build 7100. Media Control has not appeared in the 7MC menus (I expected to find it next to Recorded TV like in VMC). I tried several reinstalls running as Administrator and using compatibily with Vista and get no errors during install. Any Ideas?

O.K. Found an answer to this here

took this quote from media browser forum, but had same problem, which took me here - The Digital Media Zone » Blog Archive » Replace Movie Strip With Media Browser

not exactly sure what i did, did not know what it did, I looked at extras and found everything working today, wondering if anyone else has tried this same hack and how it worked for them. I am deleting and restarting using version MediaBrowser2.0.11.NoOutline.zip

just re-did it all and now can see that it did exactly what it was supposed to do - media browser was right where the movie strip used to be, did not have to go into extras to open it, it was there.

a quick question - I have approximately 1300 movies on my drives and 75% are not labeled correctly, after I slowly go through renaming the titles correctly will I have to delete the Cache each time or will it update each time I run media center again?
Also when I use meta-browser - it only works if movies are in individual folders - otherwise i would use that and let it rename them for the most part.
Do you think if I run the file2folder.zip program that it will work correctly?

Just did it as typed this and works good now - all movies are showing up on metabrowser as needed -

found this site for image updates - Downloads | theHTPC.net

ps thanks for the reg key - be using that instead of the other as it gets a bit confusing

    for some reason object reference
not set to an instance of an object

I cant open video very large - only if i back out of that area, but then have media browser name in way - see pics

Yea I get it to sometimes. Its a bug with Win 7 and MB. The MB devs are already aware and say Beta12 will fix it but its still unknown when it's release is.
When mine does that I just back out of MB and watch the movie and then restart MB.
If you hit back one more time the MB name will clear the screen and you can watch the movie.
And if that doesn't work go to now playing and that I know will open the movie full screen.

Thanks Demonseed, sorry I took so long to acknowledge, I did a repair to windows7 just cause I needed to anyway. I'm glad it's not cause I did an upgrade from 7077 to 7100 instead of a complete new install. Was not looking forward to reformatting again. Been doing it a lot lately. Now have everything the way I like it: log-on window, cdart display, wallpapers stored in windows folder, host file, etc, etc.
I am going to assume this problem exists with XBMC as well - since they use MB as well, but if it's with MB then no reason to go changing media centers.

Thanks again for answering so quickly.

OK here is were I would love some help from someone out there that can right a script.
A script that can find the newly added trailers and add the info to the xml automatically.

I missed it on another thread but pureMG has already done what I was asking for!
    Yeaaaa!!!

    Hey guys.
I wrote a little Program in C# which takes care of the xml editing needed to implement trailers.
Basically it checks every sub-folder of a given path for mymovies.xml and inserts the Trailer Tags.
The Program will only edit your XML file if a trailer.mov is found. Obviously all trailers need to be called trailer.mov and be placed inside the Movie folder.

You can start the Program directly from inside your collection directly or you can supply a working path when you execute it.

    Here's the link:
    http://www.lasergunspewpew.de/trailerxml.rar

    BTW:
It worked perfect for me but I hacked this together in like 10mins and it's just supposed to be a temporary solution until this gets properly implemented in MediaBrowser.
I just ran the app pureMG wrote and it seem to work pretty good.

    Later All

    P.S.
Now if any one knows of a better way to get the trailers please let me know.
The one I show is good but it still left a lot of my movies in the dark.
I'm sure if we put our heads together we can come up with a way for almost all of our movies to have trailers.
