Windows 7: Stream Blu-Ray To Xbox 360 Extender?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate with Windows Media Center and it's hooked up to my Xbox 360 as an Extender via direct ethernet cable connection. If I have a ripped Blu-Ray CD on my hard drive, is there any way to stream this to my XBox 360?

Currently I do this with all my other regular dvd movies but would love to take advantage of my new 1080p Plasma tv.

Any ideas/suggestions?

You could try using GOTSent which converts mkv files directly to mp4. This should make the file able to stream to the Xbox.

Another tutorial suggests that you could use a program like Handbrake to convert to DivX in order to retain HD format, then convert to WMV then convert to avi using the h.264 codec. I'm not sure all of that conversion is neccesary, you may just be able to switch directly from mkv to .avi, although you may lose HD status.

Also, you can use TVersity to stream to Xbox.

It would probably be much easier just to extend straight to your plasma instead of all this work around stuff. If you want to do that, you should be able to plug straight into your TV via HDMI if you have it.

Even if this works I don't think you are going to get the quality you are hoping for. That file will have to be encoded to a format the 360 will read.

I agree, you're much better off extending to your monitor via your computer. It'll give you the highest quality possible.
