Windows 7 - WMC crashes on connection to Xbox 360

Hi,

I am currently trying to setup WMC on my Xbox 360, but while adding an extender on the PC, I get past the part where it locates the files and goes onto the screen where it wants to optimise the connection but I never get past here, because as soon as the Xbox 360 starts entering WMC while the optimise connection screen is still displayed, it completely crashes my PC and the only way to turn it off is by holding the power button to get it to switch off.

I am currently running Windows 7 Professional (fully updated).

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

If you continue to get crashes without a fix, a repair install may fix your problem. However, before you do that, make sure that you've read through tutorials and forwarded all relevant ports, etc.
