Weird WMP / Media Center Issues

I just installed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my HTPC and I am having some fairly strange issues that I really don't understand. I loaded about 400GB of uncompressed music to the library, let it sit there for hours and it said it was all done updating the library. Every time I do a search in Media Center it gets really slow and takes forever.

Also in Windows Media Player whenever I go to Find Album Info ... I get through the wizard, and when I hit finish I get the mouse cursor circle spinning, and then it whites out and says not responding for about 10 sec before it eventually goes through without error. I really don't understand this.... Is anyone else having this issue??

    My Machine is as follows:
    i5 661
    4gb ddr3
    Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3
    Nvidia 220GT
    Asus Xonar Essence sound
2X 1TB Western Digital Green Drives in Mirror Raid

When you say 400GB of uncompressed music, are we talking WAVE files, or more like FLAC?

How many songs do you have?

Off the top of my head, if you aren't having any performance issues in any other department, it could be the size of the library in general.

If you are curious as to how big your library really is, head to:

Drive:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player\ and "CurrentDatabase_xxx.wmdb" is your library file.

I do see you have a mirror raid. Have you had any performance issues with your hard drives in the past?
