Ok so i dont know a whole lot about networking by i can figure my way around. i recently have been trying to hook up my xbox to my pc through windows media center extender. well this is proving quite difficult..
when i enter the extender code from the xbox into WMC extender, i get an error message, from my computer, that says i am not connected to any network. after this it says i need to look for a network before i can continue. My computer is hooked up to my wireless router (AT&T U-verse router) via Ethernet cable (my xbox is also plugged into the same router). i am able to see the xbox on the computer when it is turned on when i click to view other network computers. also i am able to see every one of my room mates computers and even can acces their files. but even though i am on the screen for viewing other network computers, i get a pop down message from the top of hte window saying "not connected to a network. click to connect..."
if i click to connect i get a message that i am not connected to a network so it cant look for networks in the area.
ive tried calling ATT Uverse, Microsoft, posted on [H]ardforum, Networking Forum and even called everyone i know who might know what the issue is. im running out of options for finding a solution to this issue without paying 60 dollars to microsoft or 5 dollars a minute to ATT. please help
