WMP 12 - resizing window size

every time i start to play a video, WMP starts in a small 3x5ish window... I rre-size and make it bigger, close WMP, and start the video again, and it never ever remembers the previous size... for some of the higher resolution videos (HD and Blueray) WMP opens a bigger sized window, but no matter what I do, it can never remember the size of my desired window the next time I open teh app...

anyone has any idea how to fix this?

Right click the WMP12 icon.

Hit 'Properties'

Navigate to the 'Shortcut' tab.

Half way dow the shortcut tab it will have a drop down option called 'run'

Select 'maximized'

Click 'apply'

Restart WMP12 and see if it works.

Bump. I have the same issue as I realized while trying out the new RC the other night. It's quite annoying.

I'm running an NVIDIA 9600gts card with the driver supplied by the Windows 7 update if that helps figure out matters.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX...

I use a dual-boot, so now I am back to using Vista most of the time...

In regedit, navigate to; HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences. There are 4 values that define position/size that I've listed below. Three are right down at the bottom of the list, the other middlish (it's alphabetic), change them to something like these;
Code:
"XV11"="100"
"YV11"="70"
"WidthV11"="800"
"HeightV11"="600"

Could it be something with the NVIDIA driver? Reason I ask is because video quality looks pretty poor as well.

Did you try the registry change?

As for video quality, install k-lite basic.

Should I use K-lite 64-bit codecs or just the 32-bit ones? I'm running Win 7 x64 so I would think (but not sure) that WMP is a 64-bit app.
