wmc freezes while playing music

I have a HTPC (Shuttle SN25P) running Windows 7 Pro. It is connected to my Windows Home Server through a gigabit router (both the HTPC and Server have gigabit NICs). All of my media is stored on the server and I have no issue playing back any form of video from the server on the HTPC. However, when I try to playback music with Media Center, after 10 min to an hour the music starts stuttering and WMC won't respond to the keyboard or mouse. I can do a "three finger salute" and force WMC to stop, which upon restarting WMC will go through the whole process again. I am also using mediamote on my iPhone and can close WMC, but it takes several minutes for WMC to actually close. I have tried 2 different routers and a switch, with the same issue. So, I don't think it's the network. It happens with or without mediamote installed. The thing that really stumps me is that video playback is fine, it only seems to happen with music (wma lossless, or mp3) and CDs will play just fine. Let me know if any additional info will help. Any one else experience this, or have any ideas?

Thanks
