Record Icon not showing when pressing record in Live TV

    Hi Guys

When I am watching Live TV and press the record button on my remote or through the interface using the mouse I am no longer getting the red icon indicating that recording has started but the program is actually recording. I use to get it but for some reason it now no longer pops up. Has anybody else had this issue or have any ideas what may be causing it and how I can get that indicator to pop up again?

    Many thanks

Basically, it could be a registry error or maybe you must reset WMC and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks Vertex but that is not the red icon that I am referring to. The red icon appears in the system tray when I record as I already have show taskbar notifications ticked. The red icon I am talking about is the little red ball that will actually pop up above the channel information when you press record whilst watching Live TV. It use to appear but now for some reason no longer appears. The same thing is happening to a friend and their Media Center.

You know what, I love the little red icon too.

When you had the "show taskbar notifications" option on Media Center's settings ticked, did you click "Save" after it???

You can also click the arrow on the side tray and Customize, it should show you a list of the notification icons that recently appeared and if you see the red recording icon from there, just make set it to "Show Icons and Notifications" and OK so it shows everytime. Just to be clear, this "Show Icons and Notifications" I am saying is not the one on Media Center's settings...

Try scheduling a recording again, and whilst its recording, click the arrow on the taskbar and look at the square if it shows the red icon. If it does, you can simply drag it towards the side tray and that will show it everytime when its active.

If those did not work, you may consider setting up Media Center again of maybe this is a registry error.
