Yeah. I was just window shopping. But I got a 24 deal thing from NewEgg. Kingston 120 GB for $70. Supposedly it's rated to last about 8 years. But for $70 that seems like a good way to mux some video and try this SSD stuff out.
I don't think that there will be a problem. This process is controlled by the SSD controller and will resume when the power is up again.
Yes I have a few SSDs (7 in total). But they are all small - 60, 80 and 90GB. When I bought my first Vertex four years ago, it was over $250. But now they have adorable prices.
I noticed you have gotten into SSD bigtime with enclosures etc.. I'm getting one to use with USB 3.0 docking stations. I was just wondering if there's any issue if you want to power down the dock in the middle of garbage collection? Is there a way to tell it to knock off so you can power off?
