    No, not built in (that I know of). It just has normal disk management tools like any OS. Always best to run hard drive diagnostics from the manufacturers me thinks.

    Is there an easy and reliable hard drive test for most makers built into Linux? I think OP's asking that.

    Thanks Greg. Never tried Peppermint - looks interesting. I only use Linux for diagnostics so I have only really used Ubuntu. I like the Peppermint desktop look better!

    I'll take a look, but I am on vacation this week and I'm already getting "The Look" from the wife. (Not the good look - the one that says "you're doing that stuff here?")!
