Error with outlook 2007 0x800CCC0F : The connection to the server was

I am running Outlook 2007 enterprise on Windows 7. I am getting an error when trying to send mail. I can receive mail and it is okay but not send.

Email server setting and account username and password are all correct.
Incoming is pop.gmx.com
outgoing is mail.gmx.com

The error I'm getting is 0x800CCC0F : The connection to the server was interrupted.

I googled the error and the consensus is that anti visus software or firewall is causing the error so I uninstalled my antivirus and firewall software but no luck

This is getting frustrating Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated please!!!!!!!

SOLVED.

Okay here's what I did in case this helps anyone else.

My ISP is telstraclear so I substituted their smtp settings so instead of mail.gmx.com I used smtp.clear.net.nz

I can't believe I couldn't find this solution on the net!!!

Try setting your SMTP server to smtp.paradise.net.nz (advised in Telstraclear online documentation). Hope it works now

One to try is smtp.gmx.com. I had a similar issue recently using mail.gmx.com, and this solved it. May not be your issue as I use IMAP not POP3 but worth a try

Try running Outlook in safe mode; type outlook.exe /safe into the run box under the Start Orb, then hit Enter.

Tom Have you tried the fix I suggested? - I believe that they are in the process of migrating the SMTP server to the new smtp.gmx.com server, you may have to check the port and use the alternate for some ISPs
