    1935 Error

    Hi there
Previously (2 days ago) I had Office 2010 beta. I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and upgrade, so I uninstalled the beta, and tried to install the full version.
At first I got an error involving an installation of Visio 2007 which I removed, and attempted to install Office. It gets about 1/2 way done with any components selected and gives me this error (occurs in both 2010 and 2007):
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component
Now, let me explain some things...
Ive been through hoops with .net, as the KB article says (which is bogus because its built into the OS and you cant uninstall / install / repair it unless you use a 3rd party program which doesn't seem to work and I cant seem to get 2.0 to install anyways)
And Ive been to the registry and back, removing everything related to office.
I have even uninstalled every other program that wasn't crucial to try and get this to work.
    Also tried a sfc /scannow
    And Scandsk / chkdsk
Tried reinstalling a beta I found online, same error

My machine is Windows 7 x64

Can anyone out there help me?
    Thanks.

    Thanks, but I have.
That article doesn't really provide any useful information.
Im not running any of the anti virus it lists, Ive tried multiple removing tools to try and wipe all trace of my previous office and Visio installs, and have tried to install Office 2007 / 2010 on a clean boot.

    Hello,

Reboot the System in Selective Startup Run Selective Startup using System Configuration then Download Revo Uninstaller (Free edition) and use the Hunter Mode. Then reboot and install Office 2010.

    Good Luck,

Long shot, but try running the setup file as administrator (right-click)

No dice, theirs nothing related to Microsoft office on my machine at all, except for the .exe to install office. It just insists to not install, and give me that error.

    error 1935

I had the same error when I tried to install Office 2010. I tried all the various suggestions (mostly relating to the state of .NET framework on my machine... ) and in the end I reinstalled Windows. Painful I know but nothing else was gonna work.

    Perfect after that.

    1935

I thought to open new thread as this Error 1935 on setup is - as I see - a general error which prevents various programs to install.

For example, at the moment I could not install Adobe Lightroom 3 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 13 trial - both are giving error 1935. I assume there are more and I don't want to remove Office 2010 to try it and find I could not install it again.

What I read so far and what makes sense is either:

    a) .Net of Windows 7 is damaged. This is part of Windows and you cannot do much to remove it or repair it

    b) Something was not completed before, maybe Windows Update fail to complete so the Windows Installer cannot read something from somewhere (?)

There aren't solution to both or I didn't find one so far. Only solution that makes sense is to repair Windows 7 by running setup from Windows 7 (there is excellent guide on this site about that). I didn't try that yet for a funny reason - I cannot make 12 GB of free space on C disk. Now I am a bit stuck.

I want, if someone knows what is going on, to repair the problem that is causing error 1935, if possible without reinstalling Windows.

    Thanks for any ideas!
