Strange Behavior: Win7 and Excel 2003

After the initial launch of an Excel document, if I perform a Save, the active Excel window drops behind another opened app window. Will not behave this way on subsequent saves, only the initial.

Ideas?

Welcome to Windows 7 Support,
Its possible your mouse may be sticking and the excel screen gets minimized to the background.
