My Outlook either shows the hourglass and just sits there or the screen image gets pale and in either case I have to close and restart Outlook.

One of the things that triggers it is accidentally clicking on an action twice, but in other cases there is no known trigger.

This happens several times an hour. I do not have similar problems with any other program.

I have seen the suggestion that this might be caused by add-ins. Where can I find a list of add-ins. I have not knowingly added any add-ins.
Thanks!

Don't feel bad. I have trouble with Outlook 2007 on a regular basis - it freezes or crashes. Sometimes it even has trouble loading its pst (data files) files... It's buggy.

Under tools -> customize -> toolbars is where addons/plugins are usually found.

Anti virus software can cause Outlook to be unstable. A family member had Kaspersky AV and it would lock up Outlook when it used its spam filter. Got rid of that, and the problems went away...

Don't use spam filter

In the business I am in Spam filters caught too much legitimate email so I do not use them or the Junk Mail folder, just the delete key!
Thanks for your quick reply.
The restarting thing is getting to be very annoying when I have several hundred emails a day and keep having to wait for the restart. I am also afraid of corruption as a result.
