Deactivate Office 2010

I am used to working with Adobe's creative suite and every time I have to do something like move it to another computer I have to deactivate the software so that I can move it to another computer.

I upgraded my xp machine to 7 and then when I updated the graphics and now I have an error message on boot up that I can't get rid of. Long and short of it is that I can only start-up off of the CD. I had installed Office 2010 and I have used all of the installations. I am going to reinstall Windows again but am I going to be able to install Office again. I have tried to find some way of deactivating the software so that I am only using the correct number of activations.

Anyone have an answer to this.

What error message are you getting on bootup?

If you do blow out your operating system and reinstall on the same computer, you shouldn't have any problems with office.

It will only startup off of the Windows7 disk. If I don't put this in I get a message that says it is looking for a file called \windows\system32\winload.exe. It tells me to put the install disk in and select the repair installation option which I have done about three times now. Since I only have a few programs installed I thought I could just start over. I had moved from XP to 7 so it did the format anyway and I haven't bothered to restore many of my data files. I was waiting to see if something like this happened.

I am well aware that I can have 3 installations. I have one desktop and two laptops in my house so they are all used. I had worked in software sales years ago and I like to stay on the legal side of the terms of use.

Generally, the rule is you need to uninstall your other copy of Office (or Windows) before you move it to the new installation. There is however no official way to deactivate it as there is with Adobe software.
