    Hi there
Are you using the Home version.

With Office Outlook 2007 there's an AVAST plugin.
AVAST MS EXCHANGE PLUGIN appears briefly on the screen when you start Outlook 2007.

Screen image enclosed -- it's a bit blurred as it's hard to capture the screen properly in the second before it disappears - but you should see what I mean.

I suspect that the plugin doesn't work for Office 2010 and therefore the Outlook program won't start as this plugin seems to be a part of launching the Outlook application.

It's not unreasonable for there to be an error as Office 2010 isn't "Officially" available yet to the general public and even OEM's who need to test this stuff probably haven't got hold of it yet.

Try switching off (if it's possible) checking the email client and scan the folders manually for a "Get around".

    Cheers

    Hi Aaron,

I get the same message with Office 10 installed without Outlook 10 setup when I scan a file with Avast Pro. I click OK, and it continues to scan without a problem though. I do have Windows Live Mail set a the default though.

I sent a "Frown" report to the Office team.

    Hi Jimbo,

No, I think this is a different bug then what' you're describing. But I am using Pro like Shawn is. The problem is like Shawn apparently is getting too, is that any file that you right click on and scan manually, this Office Outlook msg pops up and suspends the Avast scan. But like Shawn says if you click OK, it will commence with the scan. It really shouldn't have anything to do with Office, or Outlook, when just scanning some non related file manually. Just a highly annoying bug is all.

    Thanks Jimbo.

    Thanks for confirming Shawn.
