Windows 7: office and start menu?

office and start menu?

Im having a weird problem with my start menu and office jumplists. If I hover over any office program to show the jump list, then click off the start menu, the next time I open the start menu it is cut off (see attachment)(happens both orientations, taskbar on bottom and side). This only happens with office programs, any other program is fine to use jumplists.
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone solved it?

follow up: managed to stop it doing it. It was the powerpoint jumplist causing it, so I right-click> remove from this list everything for powerpoint. Doesn't do it now I tried opening presentations in powerpoint so theyd show in the start menu jumplist, and still no problems
