Windows 7 Instant Search wont open emails

I want to Thanks everyone in advance on hopefully solving my problem. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and Micrisoft Office Professional 2010.

When I go to Start then search for an email it finds it but when I try to open it nothing happens. I also tried right clicking then clicking open and nothing. I can open all other office files like word and excel docs. I have searched on a Solution for days. I thought it was because I had the Academic version of Office so I bought the standard Office Professional and still have the same problem. I find the emails using the instant search but they won't open.

you probably just need to associate the email extension with the application. to do that go into control panel>default applications>choose extension

Try removing the Google Desktop if you have it installed.

Also, you can use this link for setting the defaults
