Standard toolbar Is there a way in Office products, Word 2010 and Excel 2010, in particular, to bring up the standard toolbar that I used to have in Office XP? I want to do this to use the My Places bar. Thanks. | My System Specs |

You can buy a toolbar converter Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - Shows Classic Menus and Toolbars of 2003 on Ribbon or why not get Office 2003 if you like Office XP interface. (you can run them side by side) | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number GIGABYTE Rig (Custom) OS Windows 7 Professional (x64/SP1) / XP Pro CPU Intel i5-3570k 3.40 GHz @ 4.5 GHz Motherboard GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H Memory 8GB (2133MHz) DDR3 cl9 Graphics Card Asus GTX560 Ti (Nvidia) + Palit GTS 450 (Nvidia) Sound Card Audigy Sound blaster SE Monitor(s) Displays (1920x1080) HP, (1440x900) Acer, (1280x800) Compaq Keyboard Steelseries 6Gv2 Mouse Logitech M505 / IBM Thinkpad Travel Mouse PSU Antec 620w High Current Gamer Case Coolmaster HAF 922 Cooling CPU - Antec KÜHLER H₂O 920 Hard Drives Sandisk Extreme (120GB, SSD) Samsung HD103SJ (1TB, 7200RPM, 32MB)

gogreen, do you mean the toolbar that floated on the desktop ?
if so, you can add the shortcuts to a folder, and add that folder as a new toolbar, on the bar next to the open applications (as in language bar etc..)
or you can try many free programs that offer it, as in "stardock" | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number dell studio xps 1640 OS windows 7 home premium 64 bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo p8700 2.53ghz Motherboard DELL 0U785D Memory 4096 MB Sound Card ATI High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 x 59 hertz Keyboard ps2 Mouse HID-compliant mouse-dell touchpad |

i think they took it out in 2003, but for sure in the 2007 version.
the above are the work arounds.
i saw a while ago a registry hack that allowed you to put it back, but i don't recall where i saw it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number dell studio xps 1640 OS windows 7 home premium 64 bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo p8700 2.53ghz Motherboard DELL 0U785D Memory 4096 MB Sound Card ATI High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 x 59 hertz Keyboard ps2 Mouse HID-compliant mouse-dell touchpad |

Too bad. The My Places Bar was an excellent time-saver. Now I have to wade through all sorts of file hierarchy to get to where I want to go. Can I customize the ribbon to achieve something similar? Thanks. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Antivirus MSE, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Browser Firefox Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird. Bring Office 2003 Menus Back to 2010 with UBitMenu - How-To Geek
Try that and it may not work because you may have a 64-bit office | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number GIGABYTE Rig (Custom) OS Windows 7 Professional (x64/SP1) / XP Pro CPU Intel i5-3570k 3.40 GHz @ 4.5 GHz Motherboard GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H Memory 8GB (2133MHz) DDR3 cl9 Graphics Card Asus GTX560 Ti (Nvidia) + Palit GTS 450 (Nvidia) Sound Card Audigy Sound blaster SE Monitor(s) Displays (1920x1080) HP, (1440x900) Acer, (1280x800) Compaq Keyboard Steelseries 6Gv2 Mouse Logitech M505 / IBM Thinkpad Travel Mouse PSU Antec 620w High Current Gamer Case Coolmaster HAF 922 Cooling CPU - Antec KÜHLER H₂O 920 Hard Drives Sandisk Extreme (120GB, SSD) Samsung HD103SJ (1TB, 7200RPM, 32MB)
