Windows 7 - Outlook 2010 new mail sound

| | Outlook 2010 new mail sound I cannot get the new mail notification to work with Outlook 2010(Windows 7 x64); it plays when I test it, but that is it. Startup/shutdown sounds play ok. Come to think of it, not sure if the icon changes in the taskbar - need to watch for that. Any ideas? Thanks. |

| | I know I'm stating the obvious once again, but, are your speakers on?  Also, right click on the desktop and choose "Personalize":  Then click on "sounds" in the lower right of the window:  And check your setting for "New mail notification":  Are you using a customized theme? |

| | I have exactly the same problem with Windows 7 64 bits SP1, outlook 2010 - no sound at all on incoming messages. I am interfacing Outlook to 2 mail accounts using IMAP protocol. Is Microsoft going to give us a workaround for this? |

| | (and i have checked Outlook 2010 mail settings, my sound is active (icon on at the bottom of the desktop), and I have also checked the mail arrived sound in the control panel)(besides, the sound "mail arrived" works well with thunderbird and windows live mail)... |
