After uninstalling Office 2010 beta can't install 2010 trial help

My beta expired so I uninstalled the beta. I restarted and tried to install the trial but I get this error.

Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous Office 2010 trials being installed. (System error: -1073418160)
I read then that I was to delete the following reg entries

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office
Problem is the bottom entry is not deleteable. If I try to delete it or a subfolder or the key I get

Cannot delete office: Error while deleting key.
I tried deleting the key in safemode or by altering the permissions of it and running regedit in admin mode but nothing worked. I'm running win 7 x64.

I would greatly appreciate any help so I can clean this and install the office 2010 trial.

I tried CCcleaner that didn't work, also tried safe mode and didn't work. Revo uninstaller doesn't show microsoft office even being there.

Hey yowan, thanks for the suggestion, I tried it and found the office registry key I can't delete then I tried to delete it within revo and then revo showed it as gone but when I go in regedit its still there. Then I tried to rescan with forced uninstall in advanced mode and it no longer found anything. But its still there is normal regedit.

    Update:

I think this is the right way, look at this guys post, he used some program called unlocker? I downloaded one called that but I don't know how it works, trying to figure it out.

    FIX

    FIX

    FIX!!!!!!

i had the same exact problem and nothing on this forum would help. I decided to use ccleaner to fix/erase all office registry files by scanning for registry problems and deleting them all. Then i went to 'computer' and simply searched 'office'. it came up with a list of things on my pc that contain the word 'office' so i deleted all of them, however some were protected and couldn't be deleted so i had to download the free program unlocker in which i had to browse for every file that contained 'office' and delete them. this took some time because most of the files were buried in windows/winsxs.... after i deleted everything that contained 'office' from my computer, i reinstalled office 2010 and it worked!!!! I hope this helps!!!!

Ok I'll try to restart and try it in safemode as well, will report back, thanks guys!

    EDIT:

Sadly it still did not work. The key is still there and revo did not detect the key anymore even in safemode. Does anyone know this unlocker program that Jordy is talking about in my above quote?
