    Word rollbacked my document?

I'm in need of desperate help. I've been working on a document all week and my last saved revision of the document was last night. I opened up the document up this morning and all my content was there.

However when I went back to open it just now the document I was met with a document not found message. I go into the folder and find the document there and open however it's from a previous revision. The date modified shows it was from two days when in fact I last modified it last night.

I go back into to word to check where the file was located that I tried open when I got file not found message and it was in the temp downloads of opera. This cannot be as I've never downloaded this document through email or the web, I've been working on it strictly through MS Word on my computer. It seems the document rolled back to a previous revision. I don't know what to do and don't have time rewrite and complete the entire document as I'm on a deadline.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on what you have then previous versions Do you see the one that is missing?

    If not try with this
DiskDigger | The trusted data recovery solution

If not successful try with recuva.

Use computer as little as possible till found. Each use makes it more difficult to find

No dice. I'm guessing since it was rollbacked and not deleted it's not finding anything. This is so frustrating...Is there anything else I can try at this point?

Two things. System restore, for one, but that is not for personal doucments, but give it a try. This sounds like a unique situation.
Make a point before you start so you can come back if necessary.

Sorry to say, it may not have been saved correctly, either by you or the OS.

Unfortunately there were no restore points created yesterday, the earliest was the 7th of November. I agree this is a unique situation, I've never encountered this or heard of it happening. What makes it worse is I was reading over it this morning and when my girlfriend asked to send her the document I told her I'd do today, which I never did.

I guess there's nothing to do but rewrite it all. Thanks anyways for your effort.

I tried disc digger and it gave me an error in the process forcing me to abort. What it did recover was documents from years ago but not the one I was looking for.

Recuva I was unable to get a copy of since it must be purchased.

They have a free trial period. Its a good one to try. If no success the document seems to be gone.

Really do wish you luck. Although it was many years ago, I remember those papers.
