Excel Macros Disabled Under W7

Last week, I received a new notebook with Win 7 professional as OS - New to me and I feel way behind time noting the posting dates on the forum. Then there is reference to W8
I have been developing a program in Excel since 1995, improving the macros and output worksheets as I go along.
To protect important cells from accidental changes, I have protected all the work sheets.
I have been using office 2010 on my previous XP-SP3 OS without a problem.
Running Office 2010 in W7 OS, I encountered problems with macros.
Unlike Access and Word - where I could select trusting the developer - that option is NOT available in Excel. The security message suggests that the macros are encrypted and need to be unprotected. However, that did not solve the problem as the same message is repeated.
However, when I also remove protection from ALL the worksheets, there is some action.
Running the compatibility utility, I receive a message referring to XP SP2.
Anyone out there that can be of assistance?

Hopefully you will find your resolution here:
Add, remove, or view a trusted publisher - Excel - Microsoft Office

Quote:
Add a trusted publisher via the Trust Center If you know that active content (macros, ActiveX controls, data connections, and so on) from a new publisher is reliable, you can add the publisher to the trusted publishers list in the Trust Center.
  1. Open the file from the new publisher.
  2. Click the File tab. The Backstage view appears.
  3. Under Help, click Options; the Options dialog box appears.
  4. Click Trust Center.
  5. Click Trust Center Settings; the Trust Center appears.
  6. Click Trusted Publishers.
  7. From the list, select the publisher's certificate, and then click OK.
The following image is an example of the Trusted Publishers area of the Trust Center.

Important If you open a file from a publisher and you receive a warning message that there is no signature present, or that the signature is invalid, you should not enable the content or trust the publisher unless you are sure the code project comes from a reliable source. You can learn more about digital signatures and their certificates in How to tell if a digital signature is trustworthy.
