    Multiple workbooks in Excel 2010 to be saved as an XML file


    Hi all

    It seems not possible to save a 2010 EXCEL spreadsheet containing multiple workbooks as an XML file -- however you CAN save it as a type 2003 XMLworkbook. This works and seems to conform to the XML standard but are MS going to drop this.

    XML is a decent OPEN common standard -- we use it a lot for transferring data between various systems including SAP which although has its own IDOC type of interface it also handles XML files.

    (Any SAP consultants -- XML also used a lot in XI / PI data transfer too --much better than IDOCS since you avoid another whole set of conversion processes and the XI / PI data can be formatted any way you want too).

    I'm perplexed in that EXCEL 2010 is prompting for a format that is AT LEAST 2 releases of EXCEL earlier.

    Are we suddenly going to lose XML support.

    Showstopper if this DOES happen.
