Office 2010 locks up with print command

Office 2010 has suddenly started locking up whenever I try to print. I tried reinstalling the printer driver and using a different printer with no luck. I'm running office 2010 professional plus and have had no problems for 6 months. Is there a bad MS update out there? My machine is running core i7 x64 with win7

There are many troubleshooting suggestions here:
How to troubleshoot print failures in Word 2010, Word 2007, and Word 2003

also, you could try an MS Fix-it:

Please post back with any results. :)

    print command locks office 2010

Thanks for the links but they all talk about error messages which I don't get- I just get a frozen program. I just noticed Word 2010 doing the same thing as Outlook. Other programs print fine.

    Printer freezing Outlook 2010

I found a failed install of Service Pack1 for Win7. After running the install (successfully), The problem was solved. Gawd I wish MS wouldn't put me through this stuff! Thanks for your efforts though!
