Office 2003 crashes w/ Windows 7 x64
Solution confirmed! Had massive problems with Outlook 2003 on Win7 x64. Running on Lenovo R61i notebook. Uninstalling the "Broadcom Bluetooth software with enhanced data rate" fixed all of the problems mentioned below. Interestingly enough the software was automatically installed by Lenovo's automatic software update tool but serves no obvious purpose: after uninstall, Bluetooth continued to work fine.

-random crashes
-startup of Outlook took longer than I was used to
-asian / gibberish characters in random textboxes (font drop down box for example)
-sometimes impossible to send / retrieve mails from server (random)
-mail editor window not showing everything / freezing

Now why the hell any Bluetooth driver would need to mess with Outlook in such a direct way as to obviously cause memory corruption is beyond my imagination. Thanks for the hint! I would never have found the solution otherwise.
