Windows 7 - Word, Excel Recent Documents |

Word, Excel Recent Documents I work mostly in Word, sometime Excel (MS Office Home and Business 2010). Sometimes, the recent documents window is pretty large, which is what I like. Other times, it's gone. To clarify, I reach that window by clicking File, and the list appears. I cannot figure out what causes it to disappear. I'd like it stay full of the documents I most often use. I have set the number of recent documents at 25.
So what am I doing to trigger clearing of the recent documents? Or is it a setting?
Thanks.

Do you use anything like CCleaner?
If so, you need to uncheck Office 2010 under the Applications tab.. .

Of course! CCleaner and GlaryUtilities. I'll tinker with them to leave recent docs alone. Thanks, Irene. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird. Excuse the interruption, now that one of you guys mentioned "Glary Utilities"....I was wondering if the rumours about it were true...that it actually spreads viruses or something like that. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite L505 OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit SP1 CPU Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6500 @ 2.10GHz Motherboard TOSHIBA Portable PC (CPU Memory 313GB TOSHIBA TOSHIBA MK3263GSX, 3GB RAM Graphics Card Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 1x; Generic PnP Monitor | Screen Resolution 1366 X 768 - 32 bit Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad Hard Drives 313GB TOSHIBA TOSHIBA MK3263GSX |

Viruses, no. But what do you mean by "or something like that"?
Some free programs ask if you want to install various toolbars. Is that what you mean? I don't recall at the moment if Glary Utilities is one of them--maybe I'm thinking of CCleaner. Either way, during installation just uncheck what you don't want installed. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird.
