Windows 7 - Word, Excel Recent Documents

Word, Excel Recent Documents

I work mostly in Word, sometime Excel (MS Office Home and Business 2010). Sometimes, the recent documents window is pretty large, which is what I like. Other times, it's gone. To clarify, I reach that window by clicking File, and the list appears. I cannot figure out what causes it to disappear. I'd like it stay full of the documents I most often use. I have set the number of recent documents at 25.

So what am I doing to trigger clearing of the recent documents? Or is it a setting?

Thanks.

Do you use anything like CCleaner?
If so, you need to uncheck Office 2010 under the Applications tab..

Of course! CCleaner and GlaryUtilities. I'll tinker with them to leave recent docs alone. Thanks, Irene.

Excuse the interruption, now that one of you guys mentioned "Glary Utilities"....I was wondering if the rumours about it were true...that it actually spreads viruses or something like that.

Viruses, no. But what do you mean by "or something like that"?

Some free programs ask if you want to install various toolbars. Is that what you mean? I don't recall at the moment if Glary Utilities is one of them--maybe I'm thinking of CCleaner. Either way, during installation just uncheck what you don't want installed.

By "something like that, I meant malware in general...but thanks (luckily, I DO NOT trust CCleaner because it deleted important files of my system and I had to format my PC)
