No guarantees.... if you have not tried this :

Start > search box, type outlook.exe /resetnavpane > Enter

Note : there is a space between " outlook.exe " and " / "

I think it caused by the pst corrupted, try to fix the pst file.
Microsoft has provided a free Inbox repair tool called scanpst. You can try it to repair your PST file. More detailed info can be found at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497
Also you can use some third-party tools such as Advanced Outlook Repair and so on, you can google for detail.
