Office 2007 updates

Hello and thanks for looking at this thread.
So whenever i install office 2007 the full pack, it always follows with a buncha updates.. and they are huge.. do i really need to install them? like.. ill use word once in a month... but i just don't want to go through the hassle of installing all them updates that follow after the installation of office, do i need them?

Yes, you need them. As for the hugeness, just download the latest sp and burn it to CD, then every time you reinstall you just need only the incremental updates.
