Welcome huongnguyen to the windows 7 forums.

1st. Is the userid that your using listed as administrator?
If not then y ou will need to supply the admin password to run the setup
    for office 2007 as administrator.
One solution, if your not part of a network is to log on and make sure that your
listed in the users as an administrator.

You can install the office product over the top of just word 2007, it should not be a problem as it is the same word.

When installing just a part of the office suite, there are several parts that need to be there for word to function. After you get to the customize option, you can uncheck things like excel, outlook and access. don't uncheck the rest of them as they are needed for word to run.

Is there some reason you only want to install part of the office suite?

    Questions....

    Bonjour Rich,

Sometimes &/or some PCs need only Word 2007, or Excel 2007, so we install the user's asks. And after, we decide to install Office 2007 Full for a new user.
For this, UAC is desactived & all time, I use my administrator account for all installations. & all a time, I reboot after each install & uninstall. I wil try your "recipe".

    Merci Rich.

    1. If you only want to install Word, you can choose that option during the install procedure. You may want to install Outlook with it.
    2. If you later want to install all of the Office suite, just insert your Office DVD and install the rest of the programs.
    3. You don't need to uninstall Word first.
    4. For admin privileges, you either need an admin account or you can right-click the installer.exe and choose "Run as Administrator" first.
