Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs.
Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete. Now try to run the fixit and then check.
Restart your computer in Clean boot mode and then check.
Note ensure to restart the computer in Normal mode once the troubleshooting is done
BUT I ran into difficulties in the CLEAN BOOT STEP:
( How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 )
With this QUESTION:
Thanks, almost:
I did everything you said,
until I got to here:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
Step 2: Enable half of the services
Follow steps 1a and 1b to start the System Configuration utility.
Click the Services tab, and then click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box.
Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.
Click OK, and then click Restart.: ""
c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.
The "c." above doesn't make sense to me!!
Do you mean, just randomly, select any "half of the check boxes"?
Which check boxes??? Very confusing!
I got this far, but don't dare to proceed.
Could someone advise me how to proceed?
Thanks...vmars316
