Hello clridge315, welcome to the forum.

This should help - you could try the 'Fix-it' solution, but ensure that you select the correct Office version:
How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?

Did you go to the top of the program list in Uninstall a Program and click Uninstall after you had highlighted Microsoft Office 2010?

If all else fails, you could use system restore to go back to a point before you tried to uninstall Office 2010, and then use the link that Irene gave you in her reply.

As a matter of interest, why do you want to uninstall the software?

    hello
I tried to uninstall it because i didnt have a product key for the 2010 but i had one for 2007 so i wanted to uninstall the 2007 version instead.
And yes i highlighted and tried to uninstall but nothing pops up .
Also i tried to system restore but i had tried so many methods to uninstall it that more recent system restore points had overwritten the original system restore point making it impossible for me to go back.
And when i tried Irene's link above, it didnt work and also slowed my laptop booting speed. so i had to system restore back to before i had used that software

If nothing happened when you clicked on the 'program', I don't see how it could have reduced your laptop booting speed.
It must have occurred from something else you have done.

Did you try the 'Fix it for me' solution in my previous post (and in the information below)?

You can uninstall the Microsoft Office system by going to the appropriate "Fix it for me" section that matches your version of Microsoft Office. The Fix It solutions below do not remove any Office program that was installed separately from the Office suite. For example, if you have Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and Microsoft Office Visio 2007 installed on your computer, the Fix It solution only removes Microsoft Office Professional 2007 from your computer. Visio 2007 will not be removed. Additionally, you must reboot your machine if you use one of the Fix it solutions below.

    Notes:
    • The wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.
    • If you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.
    • For users who are running a Windows 64-bit operating system please download and save the Fix It solution to your desktop and double-click and run it on your computer. If you try to run the solution directly from the article you will have problems running it correctly.

If all else fails, you could carry out a full system recovery using your Vaio's recovery utility, and then uninstall the bundled version of Microsoft Office 2010.

As an aside, have you created any Sony recovery discs yet? If not, you should do so in case anything happens to the Sony recovery partition.

I think using this program Revo will help you forcing to remove the Office 2010. It also collects the unnecessary leftover files and registry of the program you have chosen to be removed.

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
