Outlook 2010 "From" emails all list my name instead of senders

Been running 2010 for about 11 months now on a hosted Exchange Server, no problems at all until this past Sunday.

Almost all of the roughly 125 emails in my inbox list the sender as me instead of the actual sender. When a new message comes in, the taskbar notification popup displays the correct sender's name but in the actual inbox my name is displayed under "From"

When I open any of the messages the correct sender's name and email address are displayed.

This is a head scratcher for sure and confusing when trying to scroll through looking for someone's message or reply. Anyone else run into this/know the solution?

Thanks.

P.S. Running a Dell Studio 15 less than a year old, fast processor, 8GB RAM, etc., etc. No other computer problems at all, just this quirky email problem.

Hi,

If you enable the preview window/reading pane, and then click one of the emails in your InBox, is the name at the top of your email as seen in the (preview window/reading pane) from the person that it sent it to you, or your name?

Regards,
Golden

Hello fmc, welcome to the forum.

Could it possibly be that you have accidently changed the 'Arrange by' at the top to 'To'. Right-click the box (just below the search box) and see which option the tick is against.

Change how the Message List is arranged - Outlook - Office.com

Thank you both.

Golden,

The reading pane does display the correct name/email of the sender. However the "list" of emails in the general inbox sorted by date still all list my name in the "From" column.

Irene,

I did check the "Arraigned by" option you described/screen capped, mine is the same as yours being sorted by date.

The head scratching continues, at this rate the rest of my hair might fall out.

You could try using the 'Inbox Repair Tool':

Wow, I'm sorry to everyone who read this thread and Golden and Irene for taking the time to look into it. Worst case of user error ever. All of the default categories Outlook displays in the columns, the "From" tab inadvertently just got shoved all the way to the left on the header bar so it was in between the different notifications, etc so it was a tiny column and not visible.

Once I got it back further to the right so it was normal again, wah-lah we're back in business.

Thanks again to those who helped out on this. Much appreciated!
