What was the result of running SFC? If there are corrupt System files you may need to run it several times to repair them.

Do you want to repair your OS which is clearly crippled? I would borrow a Win7 installation DVD for your version, or any version can be unlocking using this tool to burn an all-versions installer to Repair or Reinstall: Unlock any version eicfg removal tool

You need to back up your files externally to DVD, USB flash stick or external HD, another computer on your network, etc. so they are safe in case of HD failiure and to do the Repairs or possible reinstall.

An alternative to reinstall is to run Samsung Factory Recovery from boot using the key given on first boot screen, after backing up your files and making the Recovery Disks to have on hand as a backup in case Recovery fails.

But I would also try again using one of the Backup Images you saved following these steps to reimage: System Image Recovery.
