| | Error opening installation log file - office compatability pack Win 7 SP1 Home premoim with Norton 360, & AOL 9.5 We did the following: 1. Uninstalled all components of Windows Live (known compatability issues with Office 2000). 2. Attempted to install Word 2000, got error "error opening installation log file" - followed Article ID: 217560 which said change the Word setup.ini file as follows: [Logging] Type=icewarmup Path=%TEMP% Template=Office %username%(*).txt This worked. 3. We attempted to run/install the office compatability pack, and got the same error; we also ran as an administrator with the same result This remains unresolved, although I have seen blogs with the same problem with Nero, itunes, and other softeware with installing and uninstalling. What is wrong here, and how do we stop recurrences of this problem? |
