    Change default Word Processer

I'm using Microsoft Office XP Professional. My default word processor is Notepad. Notepad is not the best one to use and I would like to change to Word.

I need help making the change, becase I don't know the process to use to accomplish this.

    All instructions will be appreciated.

    Right Click the File
    Select open with
Find Word, or locate winword.exe in the C:\program files\{YOUR OFFICE VERSION}\
Then Check the box that says always use the selected program

    Done

    Or

Goto Programs and features find Office and perform a repair installation this should also correct the associations.

    good luck

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry to say that I've forgotten the document I was trying to read. If I come across it again I will use your suggestion.

As far as making a repair, I discovered that I needed the CD in order to accomplish the task. I moved recently and for the life of me I can't find it. I do have another version of Office which I will install instead. That should solve the original problem.
