The other day, I upgraded from Winzip 15.5 to 16.0. Shortly thereafter, Outlook took offense to the Winzip-Courier plug-in. The next time I restarted, my PC had forgotten which of my 3 TB drives was the startup drive. The only way to get it to start was to hit f12 and tell it which one. Once I got it booted, I found that Chrome failed to work anymore and none of the MS-Office 2010 apps (with the exception of OneNote) will load and Windows Live Mail doesn't work either. (I'm still opening up one app after another to see what else may be affected.)
I've run scans using MS-Security Essentials, Threatfire, and Malwarebytes and have come up clean with each scan. I'm beginning to think I might have a drive getting ready to head south???
Uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and got it working, but I'm unable to repair MS-Office 2010 from Control Panel/Programs and Features, or by inserting the disk and waiting for it to load and ask me if I want to repair the current installation. In either case, I get a dialog window that says: "Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
UH ... Hello? I'd really like to get to my mail .... !!! Other than using REVO Uninstaller to wipe out MS Office and start all over, does anyone have any ideas?
