Converting MS Office Disc install to USB flashdrive or SD Card?

I have seen my own question answered somewhere but can't find - and the question is broader than must MS Office: how to convert any Application that is intended for CD/DVD install to format that can install [under Windows] from SD or Flash drive??

My experience with MSO [in this case I need MSO 2007] is that its pretty friendly to install. Is it merely a matter of copying all files including hidden ones, or must I somehow convert the .iso to something intelligible via usb?

thx
z

actually, I've done that one successfully, installing 7 from SD.
I don't need this one to boot.
