Win 7/Word "Send to" question

I have just upgraded a laptop and a desktop to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

The laptop has Word 2000 and the desktop Word 2002, but on both when "Send to" is selected, "Mail recipient" is not available, only "Fax". I have tried some fixes from the web, but to no avail. Is there an answer to this? The email client on both machines is Thunderbird 10.

Regards and thanks in advance

Syke

Have you made Thunderbird a default application?
Control Panel - Default programs - Set your default programs

To work like you described Thunderbird should have MAPI setting associated with it (check screenshot)

Thanks for quick response. Yes, I have selected as per screenshot. Send to mail still not available.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I have the same problem with Word 2000 but with Eudora 7 instead of Thunderbird. SendTo works fine from a Windows folder, but mail recipient is missing from Word 2000's sendTo menu.
