Attempting to "uninstall" microsoft office starter 2010

I "installed" microsoft office starter 2010 on my computer. After a week, I have not been able to open any programs affiliated with microsoft office starter due to click 2 run configuration failure. I was wanting to "uninstall" mso starter due to all the hassles with the program so I did a system restore with a date prior to the "installation." Will this completely remove mso starter from my hard drive?

Just microsoft office 2010 pops up. I'm assuming the computer is back to the original state without starter on there?

"Just microsoft office 2010 pops up".....

does it work? can you launch Microsoft Office 2010?
if you already had this program installed....why did you install the 'starter' edition?

IF it launches and it's the 'starter' edition...then it's NOT gone---try using the uninstaller

nope I never installed microsoft office onto the computer. I sent a ms word document to my computer (from another computer) and attempted to open it thinking it would open up in wordpad. Instead a box opened up asking if I wanted to: activate microsoft office, purchase mso or use starter. I chose starter (since I didn't want to purchase anything) and that's where it all began...

now, when I click on microsoft office 2010 the same initial screen pops up: activate, purchase or use starter. So I'm assuming starter is then off the computer.

MSO Starter came preinstalled on your computer. You don't have to purchase anything. From Microsoft:

    What is Office Starter 2010? - Starter - Office.com

Microsoft Office Starter 2010 gives home users who are buying preloaded PCs the ability to perform the most common and basic productivity tasks right out of the box. Office Starter consists of Microsoft Word Starter 2010 and Microsoft Excel Starter 2010 only, reduced functionality versions of Microsoft Word and Excel with advertising. Office Starter is available only as preloaded software on select new PCs with the option of upgrading to the full Office suites at any time. Office Starter is not trial software — you can continue to use it as long as you need. When you’re ready to move up to Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, Microsoft Outlook 2010, and the rich functionality in a full Office version, upgrading is just a few clicks away.

How do I get Office Starter?

Office Starter is not trial software — you can continue to use it as long as you need. When you’re ready to move up to PowerPoint, Outlook and the many rich functionalities in a full Office version, upgrading is just a few clicks away.

Not sure what settings are needed to stop the initial popup - it is there to get you to purchase an upgrade.
