Word 2007 Can't paste into it from outside word

All of a sudden I can't paste anything into word from outside of word, i.e., from a website, email, etc. I click on Paste, nothing happens, when I go to close the document (which is blank at this point) it asks if I want to save it, though nothing is there. I ran a diagnostics but nothing was wrong, so it said.

Help! (Windows 7 by the way)

What about if you use the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, and Ctrl-V) instead?

Word 2007 Canot paste into it from outside wofd

    Thanks for the quick response.

Tried your suggestions, but they didn't work.

I know my Copy works as I can paste into Notepad; even tried pasting into Notepad, copying from there and paste into Word. Not.

    And this is recent.

Is there an update that could be stopping it and if so, what can I do about it?

    Thanks again.

    How is this solved?

I don't see a solution in this thread, yet it's marked solved. Call me a useless noob, but I only see 3 posts, with the last being from the OP, asking for more help.
I have the exact same problem as the OP: I can paste into anything else but Word 2007. Neither Right-click, Paste, nor Ctrl-V does anything.

    TIA,
    Greg

    Hi

I tried all the solutions mentioned in the sites except for going into the registry. Didn't want to do that.

So I shut down everything, rebooted, still had problem, shut down, rebooted and now all is fine, no problem.

We all have these head-scratchers from time to time, but cheers to you, drro, for your persistance! I'm always amazed at what problems re-booting will undo. Rep+ to you.

I know no one here may be around anymore, but if someone happens to see this, i just want to say thank you. This post has really helped me. I was panicking thinking I was done and would have to reinstall word, but I didn't. Thank you :)
