Where would my laptop save my archived Outlook 2010 folders?

    Hi all,

I hope you can help me out. My Acer Aspire 5542 crashed last night and after a quick copy+paste of some files, all that remained was a hard reset.

What I am missing are my emails from Outlook (they are nowhere to be found on the server anymore, although I would swear I used IMAP). I archived them in folders. As I understand it, there should be a .pst including my e-mail somewhere - right? And if so, would anyone know where this file would be? I hope it is in one of the backups I managed to make.

    Any help is helpful!

    Best,

    Trevor James

Hello Trevor J James welcome to Seven Forums.

    See if this helps:-

    • click on
    • control panel
    • mail
    • data files and then
    • as attached image click on "open file location"

let us know if you find any files in that location.

    Hi koolkat77,

Thank you for the welcoming help!
    I found a path indeed (Computer > ACER (C:) > Users > My Name > AppData > Local > Microsoft > Outlook).
Would that mean if I would find this folder in my back-ups, I would find my old emails? (I assume the file that is in this folder right now, includes the e-mails from after the hard reset.)

There is another option as well. I back-upped my Nokia E72 regularly, and my e-mail was there as well (disappeared after the hard reset). Would restoring a phone back-up possibly bring back my old e-mails?

Thank you very much for thinking along. I am looking forward to your response.

I'm sorry, I see I didn't select the attached image. There, a different path can be found:
    Computer > ACER (C:) > Users > My Name > My Documents > Outlook-files

Yes, one. But I assume it is the one from after the hard reset, including my newest emails, not the old ones - or am I wrong?

I see my previous post isn't posted. I thanked you for your welcome and for your quick response :)

sorry but do you mean you had re-configured Microsoft outlook again? you may try a System Restore by checking if there is a restore point before the crash/hard restore.
