32-Bit Office Updates OK on 64 Machine?

    Win 7 Hm Prem 64 - 2010 Home-Student Office via purchased Key/Dnload ........

I'm new to 2010 Office and Win 7 (from XP) and want to confirm that a number of 32-Bit office 2010 Updates I just watch install are NOT a Glitch, but rather OK for this Win 7 (64) machine. I'm use to having '03 Office and getting '07 Updates from installing '07 Office readers, and that's my only SWAG guess as why this may occur.

    Many Thanks!

Yes, 32 bit Office is fine on a 64-bit machine. The only compatibility issue is with Office 64 (and not with Office 32): if you have an Office application with VBA code that gets compiled on a 64-bit system that code will not run on a 32-bit system.

But the reverse is OK - the same application compiled on a 32-bit system will run on both 32 and 64 bit systems.
