Word 2007 heading styles change randomly
I have report templates set up in Word 2007. My heading styles are based on the standard Microsoft Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3, as shown:
The only change in my template is that I have adjusted the hanging indent so that all three styles are aligned at 2cm, as shown in 2, 2.1 and 2.1.1 in the second group of three above.
Sometimes, for no reason that I can see, my document heading styles revert to the standard (non-aligned) version. Just to make it more confusing, if you click on one of the headings it tells you that it is "Normal", not Heading 1, Heading 2 or Heading 3. So I have to go to each heading and reset its style; but usually I also have to reset the hanging indent as well.
Can anyone explain why this is happening and advise me on how to avoid it? The only clue I can provide is that it may have something to do with importing text from another document, but I am by no means sure.
Thanks in advance for any help in sorting out this trivial, but irritating problem.
