    Suddenly email links/hyperlinks stopped working

I had to re-install Mozilla Firefox and ever since then, my links/hyperlinks in my emails (Microsoft Outlook 2007) won't work. It may have been other things that I installed which led me to have to re-install Firefox, but I just need to be able to get the links to work again.....help!!!

    Welcome to Seven forums rguevara2

What browser is your default browser?
    Internet Explorer? Firefox?

Try method one from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310049

If you are using Firefox as your default browser then from option 9 select Firefox as your default program. Restart outlook and see if it solves the problem.

when I click on a hyperlink within an email, it says: General Failure. The URL was: then lists the hyperlinks address and then says "An error occured in sending the command to the application."

This is what is posted in method 2: You may be able to resolve the issue by resetting Internet Explorer web settings. To do this, follow the steps that correspond to your version of Internet Explorer.

    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools icon, and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

    5. Click Close when it is completed.

    6. Restart Internet Explorer.
    7. Click the Tools icon, and then click Internet Options.
    8. Click the Programs tab, and then click Set programs.

    9. Click Set your default programs.

    10. In the Programs list, click Microsoft Outlook, and then click Set this program as default.
    11. Click OK, and then close the Default Programs dialog box.
    12. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Programs tab, and then click Make default under Default web browser.

    13. Click OK.

Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 7

    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
    4. Click the Programs tab, and then click Set programs.

You may manually want to recheck if firefox is your default browser by going to

    • Options
    • Advance Tab
    • System Defaults
    • Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser
    • Check now

I am having a problem with my Windows 7/Microsoft Office 10 using Internet Explorer
When clicking on a hyperlink in an e-mail (or on a website), I get a message ‘This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator’. I am the administrator of this stand-alone computer. How do I deactivate the feature so that I can use hyperlinks?
Until three months ago, this features worked well
