Windows 7: How to get Outlook2010 to connect to Exchange with Outlook2003 setings

Hi

Although I can connect to my Exchange server using Outlook2003 (WindowsXP using a VPN)... I cant work out what settings I need to connect using Outlook2010 (Windows7 using a VPN). Can anyone help?

Is there any way of dumbing down, or modifying Outlook2010 so that it attaches to Exchange using a duplicate of the settings that I am using with Outlook2003.

I have tried everything I can think of. This is driving me INSANE !

Click File, and it should have selected the Info tab on the left. On the right, you should see Account Settings. Click it and select Account Settings...

You will find yourself on the E-mail tab. Click New and go through the process, eventually selecting Exchange server.

Hope this helps. You may need to select Manually configure server settings[...], etc.

1. Outlook wont let me do a manual configure while it is open. I have to do it from Control Panel.

2. I can't get the system to find Exchange on my Outlook2010 (Windows7 x64) machine - e.g. when go to Control Panel > Mail (32 bit) > email accounts > New (Add new account) > Manually configure server settings > Next > Exchance: But when I enter the same data that *works* on my Outlook 2003 (WindowXP), it fails to work here!

Maybe there is something wrong with my VPN?
(It does SEEM to be connected... how do I tell if they are connected correctly??)

Or maybe there is something wrong with my firewalls. I am using Windows firewalls. In fact I just turned them off but it made no difference - I still cant find Exchange.

No keep windows firewall on.

Do you have both outlook 2003 and 2010 installed on the same computer? I think that it is possible to have some conflict there if true.

If not, try repairing outlook 2010. Control panel > uninstall programs -> Select Microsoft Office, and click repair.
