Office 2010 nt in Excel, but will in other programs. Solutions?

I am running Office 2010 Pro on Windows 7 Home premium.
No problems for months. Now needed to hook on new network. Printing is fine in all programmes in Office and others (Thunderbird, Chrome, Foxit Reader, etc...). All except in Excel. The programme (Excel) does not see the printer, or when it does it does not let the printer be chosen. Printers are all Kyocera or Brother, but different models.

Any ideas?

If it's an existing worksheet created on your previous nw/printer then perhaps there could be something unique in the worksheet settings/attributes that the printer you are wanting to use can't handle.

Some things to try if you haven't done so already..

Can you select and print to another nw printer ok?
Can you create a new simple worksheet and print it ok to that printer?
Try deleting that printer and re-adding it.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the thoughts. Problems are with new and old spreadsheets. Problem is same on all nw printers at my new client. Never have had this problem until this client.

As a matter of interest, what happens when you save the workbook as type .pdf or .xps
Can you print that/those documents to the selected printer?

(thinking this may be a work-around until you resolve the issue).

If you have the "Microsoft Office Labs Search Command" add-in installed, try disabling it. This seems to have solved the printing problem for some people.

Here's an MS article on disabling add-ins. I guess look for one named office labs search command as mentioned by fiddler.

Enable or disable add-ins in Office programs - Outlook - Office.com

Also, there is a good diagnostics/repair tutorial here on the board for Office 2010 and may be worth working through if you haven't already. It may pick something up.

Office 2010 - Perform Repairs

Good luck.

Sorry, there's also an old thread here where people have had problems sharing between the different architectures across networks as well. Don't know if you may be coming up against that or not but perhaps another avenue to explore in tracking down the problem.

Printer Sharing Driver Issues - 32bit vs. 64bit

Personally, I'd be getting hold of that problem printer and attaching it locally to your machine to see what it gives you.
