Problem with Excel Spreadsheet

I have to admit that I am not proficient in the MS Excel program. I have to fill in a form for a potential employer but the cell is too small to contain all of the information--the information that I typed in goes "off the page" into neighboring cells that are not part of the form. I can't seem to figure out how to fix this.

Can someone give me a clue? Thanks for any and all advice!

Keep the mouse on the end of the column header you wish to widen, and when the cursor turns into a double arrow, double-click the mouse left hand button. The column gets widened automatically to fit the longest number or string you typed below in that column. I use this a lot in my excel sheets.

Now all you need to do is to change the height of the row:
Highlight the row by touching the extreme left of the row. Then hover your cursor over the lower edge of the extreme left cell until you see a double ended arrow, left-click and drag down (or simply double-click). It should now fit your text.

Change the row height to fit the contents

  1. Select the row or rows that you want to change.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format.

  1. Under Cell Size, click AutoFit Row Height.
Tip To quickly autofit all rows on the worksheet, click the Select All button and then double-click the boundary below one of the row headings.

Change the height of rows by using the mouse

Do one of the following:
  • To change the row height of one row, drag the boundary below the row heading until the row is the height that you want.

  • To change the row height of multiple rows, select the rows that you want to change, and then drag the boundary below one of the selected row headings.
  • To change the row height for all rows on the worksheet, click the Select All button, and then drag the boundary below any row heading.

  • To change the row height to fit the contents, double-click the boundary below the row heading.
